Prior to joining ScienceMedia, Mr. Geckeler logged over 25 years in the pharmaceutical industry working on the clinical development across a wide range of product formats and therapeutic areas. Most recently, Robert served as the Chief Development Officer for Sitka Biopharma and as a board member for Cerion NRx. In addition, Robert previously led client services and product expansion at OneHealth, an online and mobile platform that used social networking, coaching, and disease management programs to support users with chronic medical conditions.
Robert has a B.A. in Biology from Washington University in St. Louis and an MBA from San Diego State University.
Philip has over 15 years of experience in the Life Sciences space, and has led various strategic and global initiatives in the healthcare and biopharmaceutical industries supporting clinical, medical, and commercial teams in some of the environment's most recognizable organizations like Johnson & Johnson, Pfizer, Novo Nordisk, Bristol-Myers Squibb, Gilead, GlaxoSmithKline, Daiichi Sankyo, Syneos Health, PRA Health Sciences, Regeneron, Teva, CSL Behring, Lundbeck, Vertex, Aries, Bausch Health, LEO, Portola, Vertex, and many others. Philip is an active participant in industry-focused associations, including DIA, MAPS, MASS, SCOPE, ASCO, ACRP, and others. He has been a long-standing member of the LTEN association, and has led various educational workshops, webinars, and seminars on a variety of industry topics. Prior to ScienceMedia, Philip served as the Vice President of Life Sciences Solutions at iCoach, where he spearheaded the sales and marketing growth of the start-up software company. In addition, he has worked for Johnson & Johnson, GetWellNetwork, and AdMed. Philip holds a B.S. in Business Administration from Rider University where he majored in Marketing and Computer Information Systems.

With more than 15 years experience in clinical business development and a background in association management, Sean works to connect sponsors, CROs and solution providers within the SCRS community.
Doug Schantz is the Vice President and Head of Clinical Operations at Alexion Pharmaceuticals. Joining Alexion in April 2020, he leads a group responsible for clinical project management and project delivery across all phases of drug development and in all of Alexion’s therapy areas, which include hematology, metabolics, neuroscience and nephrology.
Prior to joining Alexion, Doug was an Executive Director in Development Operations at AstraZeneca, heading up US Site Management and Monitoring. In this role, he led the transformation to an in-house monitoring group in 2017 and is the proud recipient of the Society for Clinical Research Sites Eagle Award for best sponsor in 2018. Additional contributions and roles included leading late-phase, full-service outsourcing (SCOUT), development and implementation of the late-phase sourcing strategy and implementation of risk-based quality management for the AstraZeneca enterprise.
Additional experience includes having worked at Pfizer for 17 years and Eli Lilly and Company for 8 years, having held a wide variety of positions in clinical research, including clinical development, project management, portfolio management and data management.
Trained as a paramedic with a degree in healthcare administration, Doug remains active in the clinical research profession including volunteering as a guest lecturer for Eastern Michigan University’s graduate program in clinical research administration, serving on the leadership council for the Society for Clinical Research Sites, facilitating the Linking Leaders Clinical Operations Roundtable and participating in the Disruptive Pharma (DPharm) program committee and DPharm Idol competition.
Michele Cameron relocated to Clearwater from upstate New York to work as a critical care registered nurse at Morton Plant Hospital shortly after completing her Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree at the State University of New York @ Brockport. When she wasn’t working, she attended the University of South Florida and completed her Master’s Degree in Business Administration. A friend coaxed her into leaving bedside nursing and she began her career in Clinical Research as a Project Coordinator at Critikon, a Johnson & Johnson Company, and later GE Medical, where she worked closely with engineers to develop automatic blood pressure technologies. After realizing clinical research was her passion, but that she also missed the patient interaction she had experienced as a nurse, in 2005 she joined Clearwater Cardiovascular Consultants (CCC), a large, independent cardiology practice with a clinical research department. Over the last 15 years, with the support of practice physicians and administration, Michele has created a Center of Excellence for cardiac clinical research. The site has 23 physician/investigators, 5 locations and 13 full time research staff. The CCC Research Department collaborates with cardiology device and drug companies to conduct 30-35 studies per year and has received numerous awards and recognition for their work. CCC Research attended the first Site Solutions Summit and Michele has not missed the conference since. She supports the ideals and vision of its founder, Christine Pierre and currently serves as the Chair of the SCRS Membership Committee in hopes others can benefit as a member of this organization as she has. Michele and her Team always want to extend their gratitude and reason for their success to the very special patients who volunteer to participate in clinical studies to bring the public new cardiovascular therapies.
